Our Story

Philly Pet Care is a family-owned pet-sitting and dog-walking company owned and run by a husband-and-wife team with a deeply rooted love of animals. In 2006, we decided to turn our passion for pets into a business, starting with a dog walking and cat care company based out of our Center City apartment. A year later, a move to the Fairmount section of Philadelphia allowed us to expand the business to include overnight stays for dogs. From there, our doggy daycare was born! In 2008, we made the move to South Philadelphia, to our permanent home-base for Philly Pet Care, where we have welcomed and connected with so many furry friends.

We provide loving, detailed care for your beloved pets here in our fully equipped facility, and we are equally excited to take care of your loved ones in their own homes, too. We feel incredibly lucky to be able to say that we love what we do!

Our Pack:
Here are the personalities that make up the Philly Pet Care family!

Kristie Glazer

After graduating from college in Georgia, Dave and I thought we would like to move back up north to be closer to family. We settled on Philadelphia. I started working a sales job for a shipping company but quickly realized that was not what I was meant to do. My love was with animals and I reevaluated what would make me happy in a job. It was so clear to me that I should start a pet care company. I call it my Oprah “ah ha!” moment.

When Dave came home from work that night, I told him about my idea. I said I was going to quit my job and become a full-time dog walker and pet sitter. Dave thought it was a great idea and was totally supportive.

In addition to loving what I do for work, I am the proud mom to our son Connor and three fur kids, including two cats, Street Cat and Diesel, and our dog Janey, a terrier mix whom we adopted from a no-kill shelter. She is lovingly referred to as the “house dog” and is Philly Pet Care’s mascot.

Dave Glazer

When Kristie started Philly Pet Care, I was in the middle of what I thought would be my life’s career of being a chef. I quickly became jealous of her pet-sitting adventures and was always doing sits and walks when I wasn’t cooking at work. She finally got business to the point where she was too busy to take it on alone. When she brought up the idea for me to quit my chef job and join the team, it was a no brainer and I was ecstatic to work full time on our new partnership.

Walking and being around dogs has taught me so much about patience, respect, and loyalty that I am happy to share with my beautiful son, Connor, who adores all of our own fur friends and our visiting fur friends too. When I started culinary school after high school, I never imagined I would own a pet-sitting company one day. But there is nothing more I would want to do and feel honored to be able to work with so many fur friends on a daily basis.

Brenna Golden

Brenna has been a family friend and an employee of Philly Pet Care since the beginning. Her love of animals started at a young age with her family’s rescue dogs, and volunteering at local no kill shelters. Shortly after she moved to the city she found an abandoned senior dog with severe health issues. She formally adopted Bucky and committed to providing her with all the veterinary care that she needed to ensure she was healthy and happy in the last stage of her life. Brenna and her fiancé have recently adopted and made the same commitment to a 15-year-old cat, Chloe and are keeping our eyes open to our next rescue.

Amanda Kearns

Amanda has been a pet lover since birth. After being raised with a black lab, she found herself spending time at the local dog shelter in Boston and her first job was working with dogs and cats. She is a bird lover and has owned parakeets. Amanda moved to Philadelphia in 2010 to attend the University of the Arts, where she obtained a BFA in acting. She has a deep-rooted love for all animals, especially dogs and their ability to have a large effect on the emotional life of a person. We are so happy to have her working with us and we know you’ll love her too!

Jesse Ross

Jesse has been around and caring for animals for his whole life. Raised in rural Lancaster County where his mother would rescue injured dogs until they would be able to be placed in a good loving home. He has always had a creative mind and passion for the arts and continued his journey to Philadelphia in 2010 to finish schooling in the field of fine arts/ animation. Here he lives with his dog Cheech and two sister cats Eveyln and Luna.
